Version 2026-10-19
Effective date: October 19, 2026.
These terms are an agreement between you and SlateJob ("we", "us") about your use of the SlateJob app and service. By creating an account or using SlateJob, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. If you don't agree to these terms, don't use SlateJob. Questions are welcome at support@slatejob.com.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
You may use SlateJob only for your own job search, in your own name. Each person may have one account.
SlateJob finds jobs that match the target profiles you set, from public job boards, company career sites and job search services, and explains how each one matches.
It prepares applications from your own materials and submits only the applications you approve, one job at a time, spaced through the day.
It tracks your applications and suggests skills that could improve your matches.
You can pause a target profile or stop using SlateJob at any time.
To protect you and employers, SlateJob limits what it sends: a daily limit set by your plan, a limit on active applications to the same company, a waiting period before applying again to a company that turned you down, no repeat applications to the same job, and a minimum match score.
You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep your device and your Apple or Google account secure. You are responsible for what happens in your SlateJob account. If you think someone else has used it, email support@slatejob.com right away.
When you approve a job, you authorize SlateJob to apply for that job on your behalf. We fill in the employer's application with your name and contact details, the resume and cover letter prepared for that job, and answers from your facts and settings, and we submit it.
If an employer's job site requires an account, you authorize us to create one in your name with your email address and a password we generate, to accept that site's terms for you when it asks, and to sign in to the account to submit your applications. These accounts are yours. Deleting your SlateJob account doesn't close them; we give you a list so you can close them yourself.
Once an application has been sent, it is in the employer's hands, and SlateJob can't withdraw it. You are responsible for following the terms of the job sites you apply through.
You must give us true, current information about yourself, and only documents that are yours.
Before you can apply, you review and confirm the facts SlateJob read from your documents. Keep them up to date.
SlateJob may reword, reorder and shorten your own material to fit a job. It never adds skills, employers, job titles, degrees, certifications or numbers you didn't give us, and it checks everything it writes or changes against your confirmed facts.
If an application asks something your facts can't answer, SlateJob asks you instead of guessing. Answers about work authorization, visa sponsorship, salary and notice period come only from what you entered.
Before approving a job, you can preview its resume and cover letter, edit the cover letter, or choose to send your original resume. Automated wording can still be imperfect, so check what you approve. You are responsible for the applications you approve.
Apply to a job you didn't approve.
Invent or exaggerate your qualifications.
Guess your answers to work eligibility or self-identification questions.
Solve or bypass a CAPTCHA. When a site shows one, we stop and ask you to finish that step yourself.
Log in to, scrape or automate LinkedIn. You bring in your LinkedIn profile yourself, as a file you download from LinkedIn.
Every new account starts with a 3-day free trial with every feature, limited to 1 application a day and 1 active target profile. You don't need to give payment details for the trial.
Each person gets one free trial. If you delete your account and sign up again with the same email address or the same Apple or Google account, the new account starts without a trial.
When the trial ends without a subscription, SlateJob locks: the job feed, applying, tailoring and coaching stop. You can still sign in, subscribe or restore a purchase, export your data, delete your account, and read these terms and the Privacy Policy. Applications you approved that weren't sent yet are paused, and they continue only if you subscribe.
If you never subscribe, we delete your account and all its data 14 days after your trial ends. We email you when the trial ends, with the deletion date, and again 7 days before.
Pro costs $24.99 a month plus any applicable tax. It includes up to 15 applications a day across all your target profiles, and up to 5 active target profiles. Daily limits count the jobs you approve each day, from midnight in your time zone.
Automatic renewal. SlateJob Pro is $24.99 a month plus any applicable tax. It renews automatically and you are charged every month until you cancel. There is no minimum term. Cancel anytime in the app: go to Account and tap Manage subscription (App Store or Google Play) or Cancel subscription (web). Pro stays on until the end of the month you have paid for.
Where you pay. In the app on iPhone or Android, you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, and Apple or Google handles billing, cancellation and refunds under its own terms. On the web, you subscribe on Stripe's checkout page. Stripe acts as the merchant of record for web payments: it processes the payment, handles sales tax and sends your receipts, and its terms for the purchase also apply.
After you cancel. Pro stays on until the end of the month you have paid for. Then SlateJob locks as it does after the trial, and your data is kept until you delete your account or it is deleted after inactivity.
Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable, and we don't give credits for part of a month. Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their policies. If you are charged for Pro twice, email support@slatejob.com and we will help you get the extra charge refunded.
Price changes. We may change the price of Pro. We will tell you before a new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
You can delete your account at any time in the app: go to Account, type your email address and tap Delete my account. If your subscription still renews, or a payment for it is past due, cancel it first. Deleting your account ends Pro at once, and the rest of a month you paid for is not refunded.
After 6 months without activity (signing in or using the app), we delete the saved passwords of the job-site accounts we created for you. After 12 months without activity, we delete your account and all its data. We email you 30 days and 7 days before each deletion, and we never delete anything for inactivity while a paid subscription is in force.
The Privacy Policy explains what we keep after an account is deleted.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, give false information, or misuse SlateJob or an employer's site, or if the law requires it. We will tell you why, unless the law or a security risk prevents it.
We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering SlateJob, we will tell you in advance so you can export your data.
You agree not to:
use SlateJob for anyone other than yourself, or pretend to be someone else;
upload documents you don't have the right to use, or that are false, unlawful or harmful;
try to get into other users' data or our systems, or test, probe or break our security;
copy, scrape or overload SlateJob, or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
use SlateJob to send spam, to break the law, or to break the rules of an employer or job site;
sell, rent or share your access to SlateJob.
You keep all rights to your documents and information.
You give SlateJob permission to store, copy, process and adapt them, for example to build a tailored resume PDF, and to send them to the employers you approve and to our service providers, only to provide SlateJob to you. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except for applications already sent to employers.
Job listings come from public job boards, company career sites and job search services. We show a summary and link to the original posting. We don't control listings or employers, and a listing may be wrong, out of date or already closed.
Employers decide what happens with your applications. We don't guarantee interviews, job offers or replies.
Employers, job sites, Apple, Google and Stripe have their own terms and privacy policies, which apply to your use of their services. We are not responsible for their services.
If you got SlateJob from the App Store or Google Play, the store's terms also apply to your download and to purchases made there. These terms are between you and SlateJob, not Apple or Google, and Apple and Google are not responsible for SlateJob or its support.
SlateJob is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms. In particular, we don't promise that SlateJob will always be available or free of errors, or that any job listing is accurate.
To the extent the law allows, SlateJob is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, income or job opportunities.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims about SlateJob is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for SlateJob in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars.
Some laws don't allow these limits. Where they don't, the limits apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
If you give false information in an application or break these terms or the law, and someone makes a claim against SlateJob because of it, you will cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
If you have a problem with SlateJob, please email support@slatejob.com first so we can try to fix it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.
When these terms change, we publish the new version with a new effective date, and the app asks you to accept it before you continue. If you don't accept, stop using SlateJob. You can still ask us at privacy@slatejob.com to export or delete your data.
These terms, the Privacy Policy and the renewal terms shown when you subscribe make up the whole agreement between you and SlateJob about the service.
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
You may not transfer your account or these terms to someone else. We may transfer these terms to a business that takes over SlateJob, and we will tell you if we do.
